History of Alcal-Arcade

In the early years of Pacific Coast Building Products, our parent company founder Fred Anderson resisted entering the contracting business because he did not want to go into competition with his distribution business customers. However, in the late 1960¹s, a friend of his who owned a roofing contracting business ran short of cash and asked Fred to buy him out. The company served an area in which Pacific Coast Supply did relatively little business so Fred bought Ace Roofing Company of Vallejo. In 1971, another firm found itself overextended and facing bankruptcy, Pacific Coast bought the failing company and took the name of Alcal Roofing.

Seeing an opportunity to extend its contracting business into the Sacramento area, in July of 1970, Pacific Coast created Arcade Insulation. The new company would focus on insulation installation and energy-saving programs.

In December of 2002, the two contracting companies became Alcal-Arcade Contracting, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Coast Building Products, Inc.

In June of 2005, Alcal-Arcade Contracting, Inc. acquired the assets of Insulcom, a Southern California company that specializes in thermal insulation and fire stopping. Insulcom has locations in Lake Forest and Escondido, California plus Las Vegas, Nevada.

Today, Alcal provides roofing, waterproofing and insulation installation services in Hayward, Santa Rosa, Corona, California and Kapolei, Hawaii. Arcade provides insulation installation services in Sacramento, Stockton, and Fresno, California and in Sparks, Nevada.

Alcal-Arcade Contracting, Inc. is built on Fred Anderson¹s legacy of dealing fairly and honestly with people and providing the best quality products and services. It is a legacy that has carried us to solid success in growth and profitability.
